things that transfer

Leaving out of my gate this evening I looked up through a window of one of several warehouses turned art studios directly across the street. Inside, there was a man wearing a blue shirt. He was standing and pacing the open space in a circle. I wondered what he was pondering. And I fell in love with my life… again.

Because, you see…

Energy is transferrable.

And what I’ve learned in the past several months is that it matters what energies you surround yourself with.

It’s more than just choosing to drop a friend or two who may have a negative attitude. That’s necessary at times, too, but I’m talking about actually finding the right energies and putting yourself within range of transfers.

Who are you?

Who do you want to be? What do you want your life to look like? What do you dream of becoming? What do you want to do with your life?

For me, it’s creating. It’s travelling the world and finding things to marvel at. It’s living a life of gratitude with people who are like-minded, and who desire similar things as me.

So what I did is find out where those people hang out, and I went there. What I did was open myself to newness: new ideas, new people, new places, new everything. Because what I was surrounded by wasn’t moving me to create.

I needed to be moved. You know what I mean?

You ever needed something more? A deeper connection, maybe? A sense of purpose?

When I opened myself up and began to become who I wanted to be (talk like, walk like, act like) my authentic self… no lie… I began to attract the same type of energies.

It’s been truly incredible. I can’t tell you how many like-minded individuals I meet on a regular basis. It’s amazing. And when we get together, whether I’ve known them for a little while or just a few minutes the energy travels and lights up whatever place we’re at. It’s like being recharged or something. We plug into one another and leave with a full battery. Ready to go out and be powerful.

That little glimpse of a stranger doing work in the art studio tonight inspired me to create something as well. His energy shot straight through the glass, and charged me to full instantaneously.

You may not be a creative. And that’s okay.

But what and who ARE you? Have you even thought about it? Honestly, I didn’t know the answer to that question a few years ago. And I still don’t know fully. I think the answer can change or evolve as we do. I just know that it’s important to be self aware. You know?

Walk in your truth, because it’s a much more fulfilling life.

So what if no one understands? Your “no one” are the people you’ve been around for ever, so no, they’re not going to understand why you all of a sudden want to be something/someone different.

But you know who will understand?

The new friends you’ll meet along your path of discovery. They’ll get it so well it’ll blow your mind.

And I’ll understand, too, because I made some changes that didn’t make a lot of sense to everyone. I’m sure some are still trying to figure it out.

But that has NOTHING to do with me.

Absolutely nothing.

Find and BE you. Do it. Be brave.

Go.
